DEAR ASPIRANTS, 

A common adage says that ‘the worst part of life is waiting and the best part of life is having something worth waiting for‘. The Civil Services (Main) Examination 2020 has just concluded, and now the wait for the results will be arduous. But this phase of the preparation must not be wasted either on feeling apprehensive or being euphoric. This is because after the declaration of the results, there hardly remains a time to prepare for the Personality Test and come out with flying colours. This calls for the optimum utilisation of this period of three–four months. This is more so because a trusting attitude and patience go hand in hand. Patience is not just about waiting for something, it is about how you wait, or your attitude while waiting. The nature of Civil Services Exam is such that its preparation is always a ‘work–in-progress‘ and one should continue to strive towards the elusive perfection as it would ultimately make one better. 

Moving forward, the next cycle of CSE i.e. 2021 will begin soon. The last year has been full of challenges. The disruption caused by COVID–19 has affected almost everybody. We, as CSE aspirants, need to get over it and rearm ourselves for the examinations. Somebody has rightly said that “You cannot afford to wait for perfect conditions. Goal setting is often a matter of balancing timing against available resources. Opportunities are easily lost while waiting for perfect conditions.” 

With this spirit, we present this issue of the Drishti Current Affairs Today. In this issue we are providing a supplement comprising the detailed model answers of all the four GS papers of the 2020 Main examination.
